292 Patient Experience of Urodynamics Within a Urology Unit at a District General Hospital

Abstract Aim Urodynamic assessment is an invasive outpatient diagnostic modality that performed in most urological centres. What the patient experience of our service, regard to levels anxiety, embarrassment and overall satisfaction? Method Patients undergoing urodynamic investigation, between August November 2021, were asked complete a questionnaire, with visual analogue scale (VAS), where 1 was ‘not at all’, 2 ‘a little’, 3 ‘moderate’, 4 lot’ 5 ‘extremely’. Levels anxiety (pre- peri-procedure), embarrassment, pain satisfaction assessed. Basic demographic data obtained, addition type lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) under investigation. Results Questionnaires from 26 patients obtained. The majority male (80.8%) myriad symptoms: 30.8% storage, 23% voiding 46.2% mixed LUTS. mean satisfaction, via VAS, 4.35. Anxiety 3.38 pre-procedure, 2.23 peri-procedure. Both scores 1.81 2.08 respectively. All received urodynamics information leaflet prior their appointment. Furthermore, all would have been willing undergo procedure again future, if necessary, recommended unit friend or colleague. Conclusions On review local service excellent, low peri-procedural embarrassment. Prior appointment, are understandably anxious additional adjuncts mitigate this, such as informative telephone call advance video, currently being explored.
